Before making our own ice cream sundaes, we discussed upcoming meeting dates/hostesses, ministry leaders and additional WEM ministry options.Upcoming Meetings
Going forward we will alternate between outings and meetings each month. • August 28-Jill Price @ the TBC Fellowship Building. • September 25-Outing to purchase materials for Project Linus Meeting in October. • October 23-Susie Cox-Parker @ the TBC Fellowship Hall. Make blankets for Project Linus. Susie will teach knotted blankets and Ann Chambers and Paula Henry will teach crocheting. • November 13-Outing-Need ideas! • December 4-WEM Christmas Party @ the TBC Fellowship Hall. Making ornaments and gift exchange.Conferences/Retreats

• Life Chain-October 3-Lori Kennedy-Stewart • Life Line Pregnancy Center Adopt-A-Bottle-May 2011 • Toy Drive/Operation Christmas Child-(Sept. through Oct.)-Regional drop-off is Southside Baptist Church, Nov. 15-22. • TBC Nursery-Discussed the need for updating toys in the nursey. Lori Kennedy-Stewart and Jill Price will look into purhcasing new toys. There is a budget for the nursery through TBC to assist with the cost. • Playground Project-Frances Bowser and Susie Cox-Parker will lead this ministry to purchase new playground equipment and renovate the playground area @ TBC. Ideas include using rubber mulch, meals on Sunday afternoons once a month @ the TBC Fellowship Hall, Clothes Closet-possibilty of using the youth building. • Clothes Closet details-All clothes must be clean and in good condition. Donations will also be accepted. Only clothing items accepted. Bring in an item of clothing and exchange for similiar item. (For example, bring in 2 shirts and 1 pair of jeans and exchange for 2 shirts and 1 pair of jeans.) You may upgrade any item. (For example, if you bring in a shirt which sells for $1 and you want a pair of jeans which sells for $4 then you would pay $3.) No credit will be issued. Possible hours of operation-First and third Saturday of each month, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will go toward the construction of the new playground. • Ladies' Bathroom @ TBC-Possible update with paint and decor. • Visitor Call List-Contact women visitors, thank them for visiting and invite them to our WEM meetings. Suggested by Dot Britt to have a visitor card that has WEM info. • NC BAM (Baptist Aging Ministry)-Need contact person for our church if we participate. Assist eldery and disabled with home needs, doctor's appointments, shopping, picking up medications, etc. Need more info regarding the financial aspect and guidelines. Initial volunteers-Lisa Sutton, Lori Kennedy-Stewart and Dot Britt. • Change A Heart Benefit-March 6, 2011-Susie Cox-Parker noted the benefit should be more simplified this year, using pork BBQ plates and adjusting the serving times. • Partnership with Schools-Assist children in need with tutoring, shoes, clothes, VBS, Angel Food, toys, etc. It was discussed to table this project until more volunteers are available.| Click below to view a larger image. |
